QEII @ The Box
QEII - Queen Tribute Band
Along with the many fans who mourn the loss of Freddie Mercury, QEII aim to celebrate the wealth of talent that came together in Queen by recreating, with breathtaking accuracy, the style and excitement of a LIVE Queen concert, which sadly, will never again be seen.
Having played together for ten years, and realising that the Queen songs that they performed received rapturous approval, as opposed to the songs of other artistes. B-fifteen, as they were then known, decided to embark on a monumental task - To recreate the best, most talented rock band EVER.
You bet your life they're serious. Being staunch Queen fans themselves, the last thing QEII want to do is alienate Queen fans, either by name or performance.By aiming to replicate a live Queen performance, with all its charm and charisma, and where possible, adding the studio harmonies, QEII aim to please and impress as many people as possible.
In 1993 QEII formed to pay tribute to the World's No.1 band. The arduous task of co-ordinating lighting, image, clothes, make-up, (Yes, make-up! If QEII do a job, the job is done professionally throughout!), mannerisms and not least, by any means, the harmonies and music of the greatest band in the world. The Stoke-based band rehearsed behind closed doors for twelve months to perfect the show - The 1986 Magic Tour.
QEII are now critically acclaimed as 'The UK's top Tribute to Freddie Mercury & Queen'.
The rest, as they say, is history.

London Guns @ The Box
Its time to bring some rock and roll back into DJ'ing, bring back a bit of performance to the stage. It's time to break out the big guns, It's time for London Guns.
London Guns sees the bringing together of two indie titans, the Irrepressible Gary Powell (that drummer from The Libertines) and the dapper Adam Ficek (that drummer from Babyshambles).
Both of them are seriously busy, established headline DJs in their own right - separately playing all over Europe for the last three years They will be forming a unique DJ duo that raise the bar in DJ performances, that not only play a unique DJ set but also brings that pzaazz back into the DJ booth.
So, first of all - what will they be playing? Taking a leaf out of 2 Many DJs book, they will be playing unique, self produced mash up's and re-edits fused with brand new downloads and some vinyl from the back of the crates. Musically, it will be a mix of indie, electro and re-worked dancefloor classics.
So, what is this "pizzazz"? Simple, Adam and Gary will be bringing their live background to the dancefloor, introducing live drums (electronic pads, acoustic, percussion and timbales) to the DJ experience. While one is DJing, the other will be playing drums alongside the other. There will even be drum solo's! Don't worry, they wont be getting Phil Collins - they will play over specially made edits.
So, there you have it. London Guns in the area.

Insane musical japesters Mundo Jazz return with their own particular brand of lunacy to The Box in Crewe.
The group are the World's only Comedy and World Music band, hailing from all parts of the Globe.
They are well known headliners at festivals such as Glastonbury and Reading. Their fans include Johnny Depp, Suzanne Vega and Harry Hill, but their legendary antics have seen them at odds with some acts.
The Box plays host to the boys' latest enterprise - a gift for all those festival-goers who wish the summer wasn't over - The Pocket Festival. "It does what it says on the poster," says manager Clive Hammond. "It's a whole festival in one evening - it's got top flight comedians, music, some famous faces popping in, games, prizes, beer, some short films and, er, bingo. "It's going to be brilliant."
